The Royal Chitralada Agricultural Projects 

                

​           The WHTER & ICES 2013 Conferences, hosted by Siam University, are proud to announce a unique and memorable optional tour to the Royal Chitralada Agricultural Projects, initiated by His Majesty the King BhumibolAdulyadej.  The Royal Project was created in 1961 in the King’s personal Chitralada Villa to promote and develop a large array of agricultural products and activities.  This non-profit project serves as the model for the King’s ‘Sufficient Economy’ initiative, providing knowledge and experience for villagers to become self sufficient and improve their overall quality of life.   The Projects also strive to be a model in agricultural research, by supporting and creating on-going activities to develop and produce quality products. Non-profit projects include:
     - Experimental rice fields
     - Rice Mills
     - Dried Fruit and Bakery Production
     - Culture of Spirulina species
     - Cheese Plant


Tour Information
By joining us on this exciting and exclusive (invitation only) tour, you will understand how Thailand has become a model for self sufficient economy, particularly in the agricultural sector.  You will also be able to experience the beauty of the Royal Villa, residence of Thailand’s Kings, by exploring the Royal Gardens and surrounding Royal Grounds. The tour will conclude with a Thai buffet lunch at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel.



Lunch at The Mandarin Oriental Hotel

       Located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, the original structure was the first hotel built in Thailand when it opened as The Oriental in 1879. The hotel has received the best hotel in Asia, one of the “Top 20 Hotels Worldwide” and The World’s Best Hotel, Resorts & Hideaways.
